Some lived experiences never let you go.
It’s a pit in your stomach, of sinking dread, and it just won’t go away.
Until it does.
That’s the crazy thing.
Feelings? Are ephemeral, but not always in a beautiful sense.
When they’re there, they’re THERE.
Harsh, sickening, and all-consuming.
Except when something happens, it only affects the affected for so long.
Ephemeral.
Those feelings stopped when the world I’d peered at sideways stopped being such a blur.
Sure, everything at one moment or another can feel big. But it doesn’t stay that way. There are billions and billions of people on this planet. Who cares if you have a botched relationship with like 8 of them?
Oh, so this person means everything?
They make your sun brighter? You have history? Emotional attachment?
But of course you had a reason.
Because they meant ever so much to you. I don’t doubt it.
But here’s the thing.
Life moves on. You move on. Unfortunately, they move on.
So yes, it’s easier said than done.
But who cares if old feelings are brought up during a phone call.
You know who you are.
Stop letting them define you. Stop caring about this relationally inconsequential impact.
The world won’t stop spinning.
So keep on walking your own path.
